Uschi Lanier, Painter, Joins Harbour View Gallery as a New Managing Member.

Harbour View Gallery in Cape Coral is pleased to announce painter Uschi Lanier has joined the gallery as its newest owner-member. Her work is now on display at the gallery. The gallery will welcome her formally at a reception Friday, October 21, 6 – 8 pm.

Uschi comes from an artistic family background, and notes that art always played an important role in her life. She holds bachelors and masters degrees in education. Teaching school in Germany offered her plenty of opportunity to be creative and to encourage her students to let their own creativity flow.

Aside from teaching, taking care of family, participating in sports and playing in a Mardi Gras type music group, she always enjoyed experimenting with various art media.

In 2003, Uschi and her husband David moved to Cape Coral. Inspired by tropical colors and light, she switched her focus from drawing to painting, predominantly working with acrylic and oil. While subject matter varies, most of her paintings are characterized by strong colors and great detail.

Since living in Florida, she has participated and won prizes in judged and juried shows and displayed at numerous galleries.

She joins existing Harbour View owner/members Ellen TerBorg Bianchi, paper casting; Beverly Fox, jewelry; John and Mary O’Brien, pottery; Shirley Hales, watercolors; John Swank, photography; and Sandy Yetman, glass art.

Hales, gallery president, said, "We are thrilled Uschi Lanier has joined our team of local artists. We look forward to hosting a welcoming celebration this fall, but in the meantime we encourage art lovers to visit the gallery to view her outstanding work."

Harbour View Gallery is an artists-owned cooperative gallery comprised of award-winning local artists. John Swank, Photographer, Joins Harbour View Gallery as New Managing Member
