Tom
Allen
Tom Allen received his education at the University of Maine, earning a
B.S. degree in entomology and a master's degree in wildlife management. For 32
years, he served as a wildlife research biologist for the West Virginia Division
of Natural Resources. A nationally recognized wildlife artist, Tom has
painted pictures for many organizations, including the Rainforest Alliance and
Rotary International. Two of his painting designs are used as license plates for
West Virginia motor vehicles, raising funds for W.V.'s Wildlife Diversity
Program. Tom has also begun to paint the wildlife of southwest Florida and
has had paintings in the Charlotte Harbor NEP calendars. Although most of Tom's
works are painted, he also enjoys carving in both wood and
stone.
After moving to Cape Coral, Tom spent much of his time
conducting telemetry research on burrowing owls in the area for the Florida Fish
and Wildlife Conservation Commission. During the first 3 years, he monitored 114
owls to determine their survival rates, their dispersal parameters, and their
ability to cope with the ever-increasing development of the area. Tom serves on
the board of Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife, and volunteers for CROW (Clinic for
the Rehabilitation of Wildlife), handling and transporting injured wildlife. He
is also an adjunct professor teaching environmental science at Edison College in
Fort Myers.
Tom Allen's carvings and egg designs that will be on display
at Harbour View Gallery for the month of September.

Thos Wandstrat
Thomas "Thos" Wandstrat
creates abstract artworks primarily with ink on paper and pastels. His recent
art show in downtown Fort Myers, was a "sold out" show. The walls of the gallery
started the evening filled with both framed and unframed colorful artworks, and
were bare by the end of the show's first evening. His one man shows are
legendary for their fun and innovation. He enjoys alternative shows in
unconventional venues which feature performance art, live music, collaboration
with other artists, bright colors, and abstract original artworks of varying
sizes.
"Thos" was a featured artist in the Arts for ACT Gallery, was
artist in residence at Katalyst Gallery of Fine Art in Ft. Myers, Florida,
featured artist at the i2Art "House Gallery" in Naples, Florida, NOWArt Gallery
in Hollywood, Florida, and has had many private shows in collectors' homes.
Commissions include two internationally released album covers, and many large
pieces for collectors, offices, and restaurants. Thos is available to create
commissioned pieces, and has many other art selections available for
viewing.
His work will be featured at Harbour View Gallery for the
month of September.
An Artist Reception will be held
for Tom and Thos on Saturday, September 6th from 6:00pm to
8:00pm
